Terms

Open Mic is retired. These terms remain on record for entries that were submitted while the program ran. Daily Driver (formerly Tech Twitter) is otherwise a read-only site. The homepage is public, and so are the About, Contact, Privacy, and Terms pages. Every other page requires you to sign in with X.

Signing in

Daily Driver uses Sign in with X through Supabase Auth to learn which X account you are for member flows you start while signed in. It never posted, liked, followed, or sent messages for you, and it never saw your X password. While Open Mic ran, sign-in was required only for that program.

Who could enter

Your X account had to have fewer than 10,000 followers, be at least 90 days old, and not be private. The post had to be your own original post, not a reply or a repost, and less than 7 days old. A quote post counted. You could enter one post a day, by the New York calendar day, and each post only once.

What entering allowed

When you entered a post, you let Daily Driver show it with your name, handle, and avatar on the Open Mic page and a share page for the entry. Each one linked back to the post on X. Claude, an AI model, checked every entry and scored how useful it was before it showed. Daily Driver decided which entries showed and in what order.

Removal

If you deleted the post on X or made your account private, the entry came down within a day, and the daily check deleted its stored text. Every entry was deleted 30 days after its entry day. To remove an entry sooner, you could email danielindiethinkers.com with the post link. Daily Driver could hide any entry and could bar any account from Open Mic, for example for spam, abuse, or posts that were not your own.

Changes

Open Mic ended in 2026. The date above marks the last published version while it ran. The privacy notice lists the data Open Mic kept.
