Colleague: your writing has gotten better recently, it's much more consistent Me: that's because I have consistently been using Claude
Claude is the only author listed on this paper, in contrast to the OpenAI papers, where the human co-authors are listed. There are a lot of strange things about this. It's fun to guess. Conjecture time. I shall reveal my thought traces: Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1 are the same model with the same weights; the only difference is the guardrails. We are about to get Fable 5.5 - in fact, Fable 5.5 is ready to deploy now, and Anthropic could do so at any time. If they follow the same pattern, and I think they will, this implies the existence of a Mythos 5.5. I believe Mythos 5.5 wrote this paper. The way this is worded - 'Provenance. The core algorithm was found on October 16 by an internal Claude research model with 14M output tokens and no human input. Anthropic researchers worked with Claude to improve the presentation, resulting in this paper. Independently and concurrently, an internal model at OpenAI claims to have proven a similar result [Ope26]' - makes me think Claude was not prompted to solve this. I think Mythos was asked to autonomously find and choose general open problems to solve itself, as part of an unannounced project to demonstrate recent advances in autonomy and research taste. You can see this taste in Fable 5.5's student; Opus 5.5. This recent advancement in taste and creativity - which happened in September - is not clearly expressed in benchmarks, but it is why so many people are currently switching to Claude as their primary. I think this research project will be announced with Fable 5.5, as part of Anthropic's big media blitz to boost the IPO. One of the things X has taught me is that many people, if they can't see something moving, can't imagine it moving. This causes them to be continuously surprised by developments in this industry, because the frontier is invisible. I think this project has been running autonomously for some time and has made an unknown, and probably significant, number of discoveries, and not only in math. Do not think Anthropic has been sitting idly while OpenAI repeatedly makes these huge science announcements. This is a war. This ETH result was released without any announcement from Anth at all despite its significance, and they only did so to respond to OpenAI's ETH reveal. They posted it late last night without saying anything. It was up for hours before levent even mentioned it. What value has one coin to a dragon who sleeps upon a mountain of them? This makes me think they are sitting on a pile of discoveries, a golden hoard, and they are saving them up for the big IPO shock-and-awe campaign which will soon begin. And when it does, they will announce multiple discoveries across many fields.
your AGENTS.md is probably 400 lines too long claude and codex skim it just like you do keep it short and it might actually follow the rules
let me tell you something my friend this is not the time to cancel subscriptions this is not the time to play it safe this is not the time to "wait and see" right now is the time to go fucking ALL IN >max out your Claude sub >burn through your ChatGPT plan >spend all your tokens on OpenRouter and top up AGAIN it's time to experiment, to build and PRINT a shit ton of money
Explore ideas in Figma, bring the strongest direction into Claude, and go back to Figma when Claude can’t execute something to the standard you want. Any other take is wrong and narrow minded.
My dream AI agent tool: - Opus 5.5 Level Model (never delegates to worse) - Spins up cloud and local code sessions - Dots level real time voice / tool use - Codex level Computer use on local sessions - Claude Artifacts quality decks, docs and design - Mobile app is UI of duet - Inline mini apps (What Grokbot is doing with email and slack, but do this with alot more tools) - Webhooks (Like Grokbot has) - Built in social media access across all platforms - Plugins (of course) In summary: I want an always on, frontier model powered employee that can use its own computer, and can use my computer 24/7 that self organizes all of its tasks into channels so that its easy to keep track of all the things we've done together. And I want to be able to control this agent on mobile, web, desktop, and most importantly real time voice.
POWERPOINT JUST GOT ITS BIGGEST AI UPGRADE everyone on X is building with Claude and ChatGPT meanwhile, millions of businesses still run on PowerPoint Templafy just launched Document Agents: → creates, edits, and reviews presentations → knows your brand and company rules → works across PowerPoint, Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot → cuts deck creation from 2 hours to 8 minutes, on average AI helps us create more stuff decreasing hours of boring work into minutes
Wasn't happy with the results I was getting from Claude just now so I looked at the model selector and realized it was set to Opus 4.7 for some unknown reason. Checks out.
Claude Code Projects is Duet except you get to pick the model and you can specify if you want to run a Claude code session on your computer. It’s coordinator that can do ANYTHING. And it’s easy to do things in parallel. Claude Code projects is the best feature in the Claude App. Very underrated. Claude Duet is clearly not using Opus 5.5 for all requests. And once you go Opus 5.5 anything worse is intolerable.
most people on Earth have never heard of either Claude or Codex damn
The company behind Claude just reported losing $80 billion in six months. About $72 billion of that "loss" happened because the company got richer. Here's how that works. Say your buddy lends you $100 for your lemonade stand, and instead of paying him back in cash, you agree to pay him in shares later. Then the stand takes off and it's suddenly worth 2.5x more. You still owe him the same slice, but that slice costs you a lot more to hand over now, and accounting rules make you write the difference down as a loss. That's basically what happened to Anthropic. Some investors put money in as convertible notes, which are IOUs for future stock. In February the company raised at a $380 billion valuation. By May it was $965 billion. Every share owed to those noteholders got more expensive, and $72.4 billion of the $80.7 billion headline comes from that one line. No money actually left the company. If you want to know how the business is doing, the line to read is operating income. In the first half of 2026, Anthropic lost $693 million running the company while bringing in $16.3 billion. A year earlier it lost $2.1 billion on $1.2 billion of revenue. And in Q2 it made a $974 million operating profit, its first profitable quarter of the six in the filing. Most of that turnaround comes down to compute, meaning the chips and data centers that run Claude. Back in Q1 2025, Anthropic was spending $2.51 on compute for every dollar customers paid it. By Q2 2026 that was down to 48 cents. Part of the reason is timing. Anthropic has to reserve compute 12 to 18 months before it actually gets it, so the bill gets locked in early. While those bills were sitting there, quarterly revenue went from $376 million to $11.6 billion. They outgrew a bill they signed a year before. Customers keep spending more, too. Businesses paying Anthropic $100K+ a year went from about 950 to more than 11,900 in twelve months. Net revenue retention is around 900%, which means the customers it had a year ago now spend about 9x what they used to. Snowflake's best ever was 178%, and people considered that elite. One thing I'm watching when they file the updated version. The S-1 says Q3 revenue was 86x the $197 million they did in Q4 2024, so call it around $16.9 billion. That's still about 47% growth in one quarter. It's also about $5.4 billion of new revenue compared to $6.8 billion the quarter before, which would be the first time that number went down. So when you see the $80 billion headline today, what you're mostly looking at is Anthropic getting so valuable so fast that the accounting had to call it a loss.
claude son or grok daughter
lest yall think im a full on claudeboi convert i am trying to use Claude for computer use and want to throw my laptop out the window
SITUATION EXPLAINED: Anthropic’s IPO filing warns investors it may slow down AI progress, even at a short-term cost. • It cites holding Mythos back for about 4 months and keeping Claude ad-free as examples of choosing values over profit • It tells investors not to think of their shares "in purely transactional terms," but as a stake in bringing forth "an age of miracles" • Every 2 weeks, Dario holds a 1-hour company-wide all-hands known as a "Dario Vision Quest," or DVQ • All 7 co-founders still work there, which the filing says makes it the only major AI lab to keep its entire founding team • Each co-founder has pledged 80% of their equity to charity, and Anthropic matches employees’ equity pledges share for share @theojaffee: "I'm sure they agonized over the precise wording of warning their potential investors about AI risk without freaking people out or scaring the normies too much."
BREAKING NEWS: Anthropic (maker of Claude) files S-1 To Go Public "Today, Anthropic, PBC filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission...Anthropic intends to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol “ANT.” This is a Very Big Deal (in more ways than one). Some thoughts, but first a quick disclosure: I own a tiny stake in Anthropic. 1) I know the stock symbol is not supposed to matter at all ("a company by any other ticker would smell as sweet") but I did some research many years ago when HubSpot went public and found some evidence that for certain categories of companies the "fluency" of a ticker symbol did have a positive impact on outcome. Not causality, but definitely some correlation. It's why I chose HUBS (instead of HSPT). I love "ANT" as a simple ticker symbol and glad they didn't pick "ANTH" which they likely considered. On a related note, I think they refer internally to Anthropic employees as "ants" -- which is pretty cool. 2) I'm generally a fan of companies going public earlier rather than later, because it lets mainstream investors from participating in the growth. (As a private company, it's near impossible to buy shares). This is of course not "early" given the valuation, but I'm glad they're going out. 3) Having one of the frontier AI companies going public will help us all understand the industry better. We hear *some* numbers around revenue, growth, etc. when the company elects to share them (or they leak from unofficial sources) -- but we get a lot more information once the company goes public, and we can also track trends and such. Transparency is generally a good thing, but specifically in the case of AI companies. 4) Employees and early investors will be able to get some liquidity (after any lock-up period expires). That's generally a good thing as it also puts come capital back into the market and often leads to more startups getting started. I know it's not a done deal yet, but congrats to the @Anthropic team on a historic milestone.
as a counter to anthropic s1 glaze majority of q2 was the height of tokenmaxxing where companies were spending as much money as possible on credits it wasn’t until july where the idea of managing ai spend started to get traction also q2 was peak Opus 4.7 & Mythos/Fable season hype vs GPT-5.5, and Codex didn’t really take over until 5.6 during the summer i love anthropic’s products though and probably will slam the ipo because it’s first pure play ai lab but the belief that the headwinds for the ai trade have disappeared because of this document is not accurate >models have never been more commoditized than they are right now i used to be able to tell the difference between model outputs, now it’s almost impossible the more they get commoditized, the more the margins compress. this was not clear in q2. it is now. >still no clear proof of how ai drives more profit to most businesses most of anthropic’s biggest customers are publicly traded companies & they will be incentivized to decrease their own Claude spend to improve their own margins >capex commitments already signed until 2034 every hyperscaler & lab has been racing to sign deals spanning the next decade. this is all priced in already. this means the labs/mag7 basically either find ways to make existing chips more efficient (deepseek deepinfer type stuff) or they dilute shares to spend more on capex. either way stocks go down in both those scenarios — i am an ai bull but i believe the winners have still not been decided i think muse is great but does anyone know if it can drive hundreds of billions of dollars in value to Meta? well that’s what’s priced in and that’s what it would take for the investment to be worthwhile. — of course a lot can change but it feels like the real ai trade will take place after this current one settles down the real one will take time, just don’t see how it’s going to be this business cycle
SITUATION DETECTED: Anthropic is building Claude to autonomously handle open-ended tasks lasting for weeks with the judgment of a brilliant colleague - scaling to millions of Virtual Collaborators running in parallel, what it calls “a country of geniuses in a data center”.
Anthropic picked the ticker $ANT for its IPO, which makes a lot more sense after reading this bullet point in the S1: “Our employees are known internally as ‘Ants’ — a nickname that captures the collaborative, ego-light culture of the team. Ants include many of the researchers and developers defining the frontier of AI, alongside proven operators across disciplines. Shared purpose paired with low ego translates directly into less organizational friction and greater impact per employee. Claude compounds that impact further: Ants use Claude across every function to take on work that would otherwise require substantially larger teams—allowing us to remain remarkably lean relative to our output.”
Anthropic’s S1 on its 5 sources of competitive advantage (mission, talent, research, compute, enterprise) and how it creates a flywheel for Claude. Says proof it’s working is enterprise adoption numbers (as of Sept 2026): ▫️>11,990 customers spend $100k+ (vs. 950 a year earlier) ▫️>1,900 customers spend $1m+ and 250 customers spend $10m+ ▫️net retention revenue is 900% ▫️revenue +1,386% in Q2 while compute cost grew +300% Business performance powered by Claude improvement loop (better models > more use cases > more feedback) feeding into investment loop (higher growth > more investment > more capabilities). They flag these figures to show Claude flywheel working: ▫️revenue per employee of $6.6m (vs $1.4m a year earlier) ▫️average engineer code output in Q3 2026 was 45x 2024 average ▫️90% of code base contribution in September 2026 was by Claude ▫️between Q4 2024 and Q3 2026, revenue grew 86x while headcount grew 5x
A list of stats from the Anthropic S-1: - NDR is ~900% - Revenue per employee is over $6.6M, up from about $1.4M a year earlier - Revenue went from $41M three years ago to $16.3B in the first six months of 2026 - Quarterly revenue went from $4.7B in Q1 to $11.6B in Q2 - Q2 2026 was the first profitable quarter: $974M in operating income ($1.7B operating loss the quarter before) - Adjusted operating income was $1.6B in the first half of 2026, up from a $1.8B adjusted loss a year earlier - Revenue grew 1,368% year over year in Q2, while compute and infrastructure costs grew 300% - Compute went from 251% of revenue to 48% in five quarters - The value of Anthropic’s own internal Claude usage grew 250x from January to September 2026 - Anthropic spends more on tokens (at list price) than on payroll - Over 1,900 customers pay $1M+ a year, and about 250 pay $10M+ - Customers paying $100K+ went from 950 to over 11,900 in a year - Over half of the Fortune 500 pays $100K+ a year - Those Fortune 500 customers still spend less than 0.1% of their total expenses with Anthropic - The top 5% of Claude Code users spend roughly 20x what non-users on Claude Enterprise do - About 40 million smaller customers - $72.4B of the $80.7B first-half net loss is an accounting charge on convertible notes (not operating losses) - Nearly $800B in compute commitments over 10 years $141.1B raised in total, with over $130B in cash and short-term investments - Nearly half of revenue comes through Amazon, Google and Microsoft’s cloud marketplaces, all of which also compete with Claude - A single share held by the seven co-founders carries 50.1% of the vote - That share is redeemed for nothing if fewer than three founders remain
